Diese ÖNORM enthält Festlegungen über Gewindeausläufe und Gewindefreistiche für Teile mit zylindrischem Rohrgewinde nach ÖNORM EN ISO 228-1. Sie ist anzuwenden für alle Normteile, soweit in den entsprechenden Normen auf diese ÖNORM hingewiesen wird. Im Bedarfsfall sind die angegebenen Kurzzeichen zu verwenden. Es wird empfohlen, diese ÖNORM auch für nicht genormte Teile mit Rohrgewinde nach ONORM EN ISO 228-1 anzuwenden. Für Gewindeausläufe und Gewindefreistiche für metrische ISO-Gewinde ist ÖNORM M 1802 anzuwenden. Für Gewindeausläufe und Gewindefreistiche für Trapez-, Sägen- und Rundgewinde sowie andere Gewinde mit grober Steigung ist DIN 76-3 anzuwenden.
