Diese Norm legt die Mindestausstattung von kommunalen Abwasserreinigungsanlagen mit ortsfest eingebauten Geräten fest. Folgende Geräte werden behandelt: 1. registrierend messende Geräte zur Messung von Durchfluss (Momentanwert und Tagessumme), pH-Wert, Sauerstoffgehalt, Phosphat (bei Phosphatfällung), Trübung, Durchfluss von Rücklauf- und Überschußschlamm; 2. bei beheizten Faulräumen anzeigende oder registrierende Geräte zur Messung von Temperatur, Gasvolumen, Kohlenstoffdioxidgehalt oder Methangehalt des Faulgases sowie Geräte zur Entnahme von Dauerproben. Tragbare Geräte (wie pH-Labormessgeräte, Sichtscheibe, Sedimentierglas) und nur zählende Geräte (z.B. Betriebsstundenzähler) sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
