Diese ÖNORM beschreibt ein Verfahren zur titrimetrischen Bestimmung des Calciums in Grundwasser, Oberflächenwasser, Trinkwasser und Brauchwasser. Das Verfahren ist auch auf Industrieabwasser oder kommunales Abwasser unter der Voraussetzung, dass es keine störenden Mengen an Schwermetallen enthält, anwendbar. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Wässer mit einer Massenkonzentration an Calcium (Ca) von 2 mg/l bis 100 mg/l (0,05 mmol/l bis 2,5 mmol/l). Wässer mit einer Massenkonzentration über 100 mg/l sind vor der Analyse zu verdünnen. Dieses Verfahren ist für Meerwasser und andere Wässer mit einem vergleichbar hohen Salzgehalt nicht geeignet. Der Anwendungsbereich kann durch Verwendung eines geeigneten Probenvolumens für die Titration erweitert werden.
