Diese ÖNORM beschreibt die Bestimmung von Phenolen in Wasser, wobei Phenol selbst als Bezugssubstanz verwendet wird. Über die genaue Zusammensetzung der Probe kann keine Aussage gemacht werden. Es werden 2 Methoden beschrieben: eine direkte colorimetrische Methode für Proben, die mehr als 0,10 mg/l enthalten, und eine Methode mit Chloroformextraktion für den Bereich von 0,002 mg/l bis 0,10 mg/l, jeweils nach Destillation.
