In der vorliegenden ÖNORM sind die Hauptmaße für die Grundbauformen der Axial-Schrägkugellager (Berührwinkel 45° < a < 90°) festgelegt. Die Reihung der Lager erfolgt nach dem Bohrungsdurchmesser. Konstruktionsvarianten, zB radiale Schmierbohrungen im Außenring oder bestimmte axiale Vorspannkräfte sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Die Lager finden hauptsächlich in der Werkzeugmaschinenindustrie Verwendung (zB Gewindetriebe, Hauptspindel).
