Das Verfahren ist auf Wässer mit einer Massenkonzentration an Wasserstoffperoxid und/oder seinen Addukten bis zu 60 mg/l, ausgedrückt als H2O2, anwendbar. Proben mit höheren Konzentrationen müssen vor der Untersuchung mit Wasser verdünnt werden. Geprüft wurden Percarbamid und Perborat. Während Peressigsäure nach diesem Verfahren bestimmbar ist, reagiert Peroxodisulfat unter diesen Bedingungen nicht.
