Diese ÖNORM ist Teil der ÖNORM-Serie S 2027 "Stabilitätsparameter zur Beurteilung von Abfällen aus der mechanisch-biologischen Behandlung". Die Untersuchungen gemäß dieser ÖNORM-Serie sind für die Beurteilung der biologischen Reaktivität als einer der Parameter für die Beurteilung der Ablagerungsfähigkeit von mechanisch-biologisch behandelten Abfällen anzuwenden. Weiters kann diese ÖNORM zur Beurteilung des Rottefortschrittes während der mechanisch-biologischen Behandlung von Abfällen angewandt werden. Der vorliegende Teil 4 dieser Normenserie beschreibt das Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Atmungsaktivität über 4 Tage im Labor. Die Atmungsaktivität über andere Zeiträume, zB 7 Tage, kann durch entsprechende Verlängerung des Bewertungszeitraumes analog zu dieser ÖNORM bestimmt werden.
