Dieses Dokument ist für Erdarbeiten im Deponiebau sowie für die ergänzenden geotechnischen Untersuchungen des Untergrundes bei der Errichtung von Deponien gemäß der Deponieverordnung 2008 anzuwenden. Es werden die Mindestanforderungen an die geotechnischen Prüfungen (Eignungs-, Kontroll- und Abnahmeprüfungen), an die Oberkante des anstehenden Untergrunds sowie an die erdbautechnisch eingebauten Materialien hinsichtlich Art, Häufigkeit und Parameter festgelegt. Dieses Dokument gilt bei allen Deponieunterklassen, ausgenommen Bodenaushubdeponien. Für Bodenaushubdeponien gelten die Bestimmungen der Deponieverordnung 2008.
