Diese ÖNORM beschreibt Methoden zur Bestimmung von bei pH 4 leicht freisetzbaren Sulfiden und Cyaniden. Diese werden in der Festsetzungsverordnung als gefahrenrelevante Eigenschaften (Kriterium H12) angeführt, wenn sie folgende Grenzwerte übersteigen: S2-leicht freisetzbar 10 000 mg/kg; TM und CN-leicht freisetzbar 1000 mg/kg TM.
