Die vorliegende ÖNORM beschreibt eine Methode zur Aufnahme eines FTIR-Spektrums nach Herstellung eines Kaliumbromid-Presslings aus einer Laboratoriumsprobe. Durch Interpretation solcher Spektren können an Hand von Indikatorbanden Aussagen über die biologische Aktivität und mögliche Zusammensetzung von Abfällen mit organischen Bestandteilen getroffen werden. Dieses Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Abfälle wie MBA-Materialien (mechanisch-biologisch behandelte Abfälle), Komposte, Klärschlamm, Erden aus Abfällen und Altlastmaterialien.
