In dieser ÖNORM wird die Ermittlung der Wasser-Energiedosis in Wasser und Wasser-Energiedosisleistung in Wasser mit offenen luftgefüllten Ionisationskammern nach dem Sondenverfahren bei Dosismessungen in der Teletherapie mit Co-60-Gammastrahlung und mit Bremsstrahlung bei Erzeugungsspannungen im Bereich von 0,1 MV bis 50 MV sowie mit Elektronenstrahlung bei nominellen Energien von 3 MeV bis 50 MeV geregelt. Geschlossene Ionisationskammern sind für Messungen nach dieser ÖNORM nicht zu verwenden. Diese ÖNORM regelt nicht die Ermittlung der Wasser-Energiedosis in Wasser bei Röntgenstrahlung mit Erzeugungsspannungen bis einschließlich 100 kV. Dieses Verfahren ist in DIN 6809-4 beschrieben.
