Die ÖNORM gilt für Therapiesimulatoren, die eine diagnostische Röntgeneinrichtung mit einer Erzeugungsspannung von höchstens 400 kV verwenden, um ein therapeutisch genutztes Strahlenfeld zu simulieren, und die die Anforderungen der ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60601-2-7 erfüllen. Weiters gilt diese ÖNORM für CT-Simulatoren für virtuelle Simulation von Strahlenfeldern. Die ÖNORM behandelt die Konstanzprüfung von Kennmerkmalen von konventionellen Therapiesimulatoren, Simulator-CT und CT-Simulatoren für virtuelle Simulation, um Änderungen dieser Kennmerkmale während der gesamten Nutzungsdauer feststellen zu können. Nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM sind Qualitätsprüfungen zur Sicherung der Bildqualität, die gemäß ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 61223-2-6 und DIN 6868-53 durchzuführen sind.
