Diese ÖNORM beschreibt die sensorische Prüfung und Bewertung von Gerüchen in der Innenraumluft vor Ort, wobei eine analytische Bewertung der Intensität mittels Notenskala und der Art des Geruches unter Zuhilfenahme einer Aufstellung von Deskriptoren erfolgt. Für die sensorische Prüfung und Bewertung werden neben Vorgaben und Kriterien für die Messplanung, die Vorbereitung und Durchführung der Prüfung sowie die Beurteilung der sensorischen Wahrnehmung auch die Mindestanforderungen an den Prüfer festgelegt. Eine hedonische Bewertung der Gerüche ist nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
