Sie ist für alle Anlagen zur Verkehrslenkung und zur Verkehrssicherung, die mit Hilfe elektrischer Betriebsmittel optische Signale im Sinne des § 38 StVO sowie akustische Signale erzeugen, anzuwenden. Die Instandsetzung von Verkehrs-Lichtsignalanlagen umfasst alle Anlagenteile, d. h. Systemeinrichtungen, wie z. B. Steuergeräte, und Signalgeber, Signalgebertragwerke, Signalgeberbefestigungen sowie die Kabelanlagen.
