Diese ÖNORM gilt für retroreflektierende Materialien auf mikroprismatischer Basis unterschiedlicher Bauart für Verkehrszeichen und Verkehrseinrichtungen im Straßenverkehr. Es wird unterschieden nach Typ 1, Typ 2 und Typ 3. Die Anforderungen für Typ 1 und Typ 2 entsprechen denen in ÖNORM EN 12899-1:2002 für die Klassen R 1 und R 2. Wenn eine technische Gleichwertigkeit nachgewiesen werden kann (z. B. CE-Kennzeichnung gemäß ETA-Request No. 01.06/04) ist die Gleichwertigkeit zur ÖNORM V 2050 gegeben. Für mikroprismatische Folien der Typen 1 und 2 sind die Zulassungskriterien in der RVS 8S.08.1 geregelt.
