Durch die Einhaltung dieser sicherheitstechnischen Richtlinien soll die unsachgemäße Verwendung und falsche Instandhaltung vermieden werden, sodass beim Arbeiten mit diesen Geräten die Unfallgefahr weitgehend herabgesetzt wird. Schussgeräte (Bolzensetzgeräte) sind in ÖNORM Z 1541 behandelt.
