Diese Norm gilt nach den in Abschnitt 4 festgelegten Grundsätzen für die in Abschnitt 5 festgelegten Toleranzen. Sie gilt für Bauwerke und Bauteile. Die in dieser Norm für die Ausführung von Bauwerken festgelegten Toleranzen gelten baustoffunabhängig. Diese Norm hat den Zweck, Grundlagen für Toleranzen und für ihre Prüfung festzulegen. Werte für zeit- und lastabhängige Verformungen, auch aus Temperatur, sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm. Höhenversätze zwischen benachbarten Bauteilen (z. B. Stoßstellen von Filigrandecken, von Bodenbelägen oder von Wandbekleidungen) werden vom Anwendungsbereich nicht erfasst.
