Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen für werkseitige Umhüllungen auf Basis von heiß aufgebrachten bitumenhaltigen Beschichtungen als Korrosionsschutz für erd- und wasserverlegte Stahlrohre und -formteile fest. Diese Spezifikation beschreibt die Anwendung von bitumenhaltigen Massen an Rohrleitungen, die für Temperaturen in folgenden Grenzen ausgelegt sind: oxidiertes Bitumen -15 °C bis + 75 °C; modifiziertes Bitumen -30 °C bis + 90 °C. Die in dieser Norm beschriebenen Umhüllungen können auf längs- oder spiralgeschweißten sowie auf nahtlosen Rohren und Rohrformteilen zum Bau von Rohrleitungen für die Beförderung von Flüssigkeiten und Gasen aufgebracht werden.
