Diese Norm gilt für kaltgewalztes nichtkornorientiertes Elektroblech und -band aus unlegierten und legierten Stählen, geliefert in Nenndicken von 0,50 mm und 0,65 mm im nicht schlussgeglühten Zustand, d. h. ohne abschließende Wärmebehandlung. Festgelegt sind die allgemeinen Anforderungen, die magnetischen Eigenschaften, die geometrischen Eigenschaften und Toleranzen, die technologischen Eigenschaften sowie die Prüfbedingungen. Diese Norm gilt für Erzeugnisse, die für den Bau magnetischer Kreise bestimmt sind. Diese magnetischen Werkstoffe entsprechen den Angaben in Abschnitt B.2 der IEC 60404-1:2000.
