Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen, Prüfungen und die Güteüberwachung für Rohre und Formstücke mit Steckmuffe aus längsnahtgeschweißtem, feuerverzinktem Stahlrohr zum Bau von Abwasserleitungen, die in der Regel drucklos betrieben werden, fest. Bauteile im Sinne dieser Norm sind Rohre, Formstücke, Rohrverbindungen und Dichtmittel. Diese Norm gilt für Bauteile, die für das Ableiten von häuslichem Abwasser; Oberflächenwasser und Grundwasserverwendet werden. Diese Norm gilt auch für Bauteile zum Ableiten anderen Abwassers (z. B. Industrieabwasser), sofern dieses Abwasser die Bauteile nicht beschädigt oder die Gesundheit oder die Sicherheit des Personals nicht gefährdet.
