Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Feuchtegehaltes in Thermoplasten fest. Das Verfahren gilt nur für Thermoplaste, deren Schmelzpunkt unter 160 C liegt. Das Verfahren ist für die Messung des Feuchtegehaltes oberhalb von 0,005 % geeignet. Das Verfahren ermittelt den Gesamtfeuchtegehalt in einem Probekörper und schließt die Oberflächenfeuchte sowie die Feuchte, die im Probekörper enthalten ist, ein. Bei einem geschmolzenen Probekörper ist davon auszugehen, dass die gesamte Feuchtigkeit abgegeben wurde.
