Diese ÖNORM enthält eine Anleitung für allgemeine Prüfverfahren zum Nachweis der Reinigungsfähigkeit von Anlagenkomponenten (Baugruppen und komplette Apparate), die in biotechnischen Prozessen eingesetzt werden. Sie ist insbesondere dann anzuwenden, wenn der bestimmungsgemäße Einsatz der Anlagenkomponenten den Umgang mit Mikroorganismen einschließt, die möglicherweise ein Gefährdungspotential besitzen. Sie gilt auch für Mikroorganismen ohne Gefährdungspotential und/oder nicht mehr vermehrungsfähige Stoffe, falls sie Ablagerungen verursachen, die Sterilisationsprozesse nachteilig beeinflussen könnten oder zu einer Kreuzkontamination führen könnten.
