Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Abdeckungen und Aufsätze mit einer lichten Weite bis einschließlich 1 000 mm zum Abdecken von Abläufen, Einsteig- und Kontrollschächten in Flächen, die für Fußgänger- und/oder Fahrzeugverkehr bestimmt sind. Sie legt Definitionen, die Klassifizierung, allgemeine Baugrundsätze, Leistungsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren fest für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen nach - EN 124-2 für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen aus Gusseisen, - EN 124-3 für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen aus Stahl oder Aluminiumlegierungen, - EN 124-4 für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen aus Stahlbeton, - EN 124-5 für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen aus Verbundwerkstoffen, - EN 124-6 für Aufsätze und Abdeckungen aus Polypropylen (PP), Polyethylen (PE) oder weichmacherfreiem Polyvinylchlorid (PVC-U).
