Diese ÖNORM wurde im wesentlichen für die Hersteller von Seilbahnanlagen oder Sicherheitsbauteilen für Seilbahnanlagen erarbeitet, unabhängig davon, ob diese ein zertifiziertes Qualitätsmanagementsystem unterhalten oder nicht. Eigene Zusatzbestimmungen sind für jene Hersteller gedacht, die kein QMS gemäß EN ISO 9001 und EN ISO 9002 unterhalten. Für die Sicherheitsbauteile sind Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Rückverfolgbarkeit enthalten, die dazu dienen, den Rückruf von Bauteilen sowie die Nachforschungen über Bauteile zu erleichtern, welche die Sicherheit zu gefährden drohen.
