Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Referenzverfahren zur Bestimmung der Eindringtiefe und der Aufnahme an Kreosot (Teerimprägnieröl) in damit frisch behandeltem Holz fest, hauptsächlich, um festzustellen, ob das behandelte Holz den in EN 351-1 festgelegten Vorgaben entspricht. Sie gibt auch eine Anleitung für die Entnahme von Testproben sowie für deren Behandlung zwischen der Probenahme und der Analyse.
