Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Messung von Brennflecken zwischen 5 μm und 300 μm für Röntgenspannungen bis einschließlich 225 kV mit Hilfe von radiographischen oder radioskopischen Bildern von scharfen Kanten fest. Die Bildgüte und die Auflösung von Röntgenbildern hängen in erster Linie von den Eigenschaften eines Brennfleckes ab. Die Abbildungsqualität eines Brennfleckes basiert auf der zweidimensionalen Intensitätsverteilung in der Objektebene. Zur Zertifizierung wird die radiographische Technik angewendet. ANMERKUNG: Diese Vorgehensweise kann auch für höhere Röntgenspannungen vereinbart werden, dabei kann aber die Meßgenauigkeit geringer werden.
