Diese Europäische Norm legt die Maße, Ausführungen, Formen, Bezeichnungen, Werkstoffe und die Kennzeichnung von Spiraldichtungen für Flansche der Form A mit glatter Dichtfläche und Flansche der Form B mit Dichtleiste nach EN 1759-1 für die folgenden Class-Stufen fest: - Class 150 bis Class 1 500 von DN 15 bis DN 600 und - Class 2 500 bis einschließlich DN 300. Die Zentrierringe der Spiraldichtungen nach dieser Norm sind zur Verwendung mit Inch-Schrauben bemessen. Die Maße von Spiraldichtungen für Flanschdichtflächen mit Nut und Feder und Flanschdichtflächen mit Vor- und Rücksprung nach EN 1759-1 werden nicht in dieser Norm behandelt. Derartige Dichtungen können jedoch für diese Flanschtypen erhältlich sein, und dem Käufer wird empfohlen, sich hinsichtlich der Verfügbarkeit an den Hersteller zu wenden. Dies gilt ebenso für Überschiebflansche oder aufgeschraubte Flansche.
