Diese Norm umfaßt Prüfverfahren für Para-Aramid-Filamentgarne, die für den Einsatz in Hochleistungsanwendungen vorgesehen sind. Sie ist anzuwenden auf Para-Aramid-Garne, die für Kabel, Seile, Gurte, Geflechte und Flächengebilde für Anwendungsbereiche in Sport-, Schutz- und Industrie-Textilien eingesetzt werden. Sie ist nicht anwendbar für Para-Aramid-Filamentgarne für faserverstärkte Verbundwerkstoffe. Diese Norm verweist auf Europäische Normen, spezifiziert jedoch ergänzende Prüfbedingungen, wenn sie notwendig sind. Die Prüfverfahren sind anzuwenden für Filamentgarne und ein- oder mehrstufige Zwirne (Korde) aus solchen Filamentgarnen.
