Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an die Ultraschallprüfung von Stahlguss für allgemeine Verwendung (mit ferritischem Gefüge) und die Verfahren zur Bestimmung innerer Fehler mit der Impuls-Echo-Technik fest. Diese Europäische Norm gilt für die Ultraschallprüfung von Stahlgussstücken, die üblicherweise kornfeinend gegl üht worden sind und die eine Wanddicke bis 600 mm haben. Für größere Wanddicken gelten hinsichtlich der Prüftechnik und der Registriergrenzen besondere Vereinbarungen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für austenitische Stähle und Verbindungsschweißungen.
