Diese Europäische Norm gilt für die Ultraschallprüfung von Stahlgussstücken, die üblicherweise kornfeinend gegl üht worden sind und die Wanddicken bis 600 mm haben. Für größere Wanddicken gelten hinsichtlich der Prüftechnik und der Registriergrenzen besondere Vereinbarungen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für austenitische Stähle und Verbindungsschweißungen.
