Diese Europäische Norm gilt, sobald die vorgesehene Anwendung der Wellendichtung den Gebrauch gefährlicher oder potentiell gefährlicher Mikroorganismen in biotechnischen Prozessen einschließt, und/oder wenn die Exposition des Beschäftigten oder der Umwelt gegenüber solchen Mikroorganismen aus Sicherheitsgründen begrenzt wird.
