Diese Norm legt Verfahren für die Bestimmung von mineralogischen Phasen, die gewöhnlich in feuerfesten Erzeugnissen aus nitrid- und oxynitridgebundenen Siliciumcarbid vorkommen, mittels Bragg-Brentano-Diffraktometer fest. Sie enthält Einzelheiten für die Probenvorbereitung sowie allgemeine Grundlagen der qualitativen und quantitativen Analyse der mineralogischen Phasen-Zusammensetzung. Darüber hinaus wird die quantitative Bestimmung von alpha-Si3N4, beta-Si3N4, Si2ON2, AlN, und SiAlON beschrieben.
