Die Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Durchführung der Spiralverlängerungsprüfung an Vordraht aus hochreinem Kupfer der Sorte Cu-ETP1 (CW003A) in Übereinstimmung mit prEN 1977 fest. Das Verfahren ist zum Prüfen von hochreinem Kupfer entworfen worden, das dem Vordraht als Probe entnommen wird. Das Verfahren gilt nicht für die Beurteilung der Qualität von Drähten aus Kupfer, die aus einer nachfolgenden Bearbeitungsstufe entnommen wurden.
