Diese Europäische Norm legt zwei Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Neutralisationswertes (NV) von Kalkdüngern fest. Verfahren A gilt für alle Kalkdünger, ausgenommen sind Kalkdünger aus Eisenhüttenschlacke. Verfahren B gilt für alle Kalkdünger. Beide Verfahren berücksichtigen nicht korrekt den möglichen Neutralisationswert von Material, das mehr als 3 % Massenanteil P2O5 enthält. Für eine genauere agrarökonomische Bewertung von Produkten, die mehr als 3 % Massenanteil P2O5 enthalten, wird die Wirksamkeit der Kalkdüngung nach EN 14984 bestimmt.
