Festgelegt sind die Anforderungen für Rostfeuerungsanlagen, wobei der Anwendungsbereich von den Brennstoffbunkern bis zur Entaschungsanlage reicht. Sie gelten auch für Kombinationen von verschiedenen Feuerungsanlagen. Weiters sind die Anforderungen an die Brennstoffe selbst festgelegt, wobei hier nur feste Brennstoffe (zB die diversen Kohlearten, Torf oder Holzabfälle) behandelt werden. Für die betriebliche Ausrüstung sind die notwendigen Anforderungen festgelegt, wobei diese für Dampf- und Heißwassererzeuger mit ständiger Beaufsichtigung gelten.
