Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des hygrischen Dehn- oder Schwindverhaltens von Baustoffen in Abhängigkeit von der Stoffeuchte fest. Sie ist für mineralische, poröse hygroskopische Stoffe anwendbar. Für andere Materialien, die feuchtebedingt Verformungen aufweisen, kann das beschriebene Verfahren entsprechend angepasst werden, wobei deren spezifisches Feuchteverhalten zu berücksichtigen ist. Diese Norm bezieht sich auf Materialzustände, bei denen reversible Längenänderungen angenommen werden können, nicht jedoch auf Zustände, die durch irreversible Vorgänge, wie z.B. Anfangsschwinden nach der Materialherstellung oder nach erstmaligem Trocknen, gekennzeichnet sind.
