Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt ein Gerät und ein Verfahren zur Messung einzelner Unebenheiten auf neuen Straßen, Flugplätzen und anderen Verkehrsflächen, die qualitativen Schäden in deren Deckschichen zugeordnet werden können. Die Daten der Unebenheiten, die mittels dieses Verfahrens gemessen worden sind, beschreiben einzig die Abweichung der Ebene von der Meßkante der Richtlatte zur Oberfläche und sind deshalb beschränkt auf die Länge der Richtlatte von 3 m. Sie können nicht mit Daten, die mittels anderer Verfahren gewonnen wurden, verglichen werden. Das Gerät kann auch zur Messung der Spurtiefe von befahrenen Straßen benutzt werden.
