Sie ist anwendbar auf Dichtmittel für Gasteitungsinstallationen in Gebäuden für Brenngase der 1. Familie (Stadtgas), 2. Familie (Erdgas) und 3. Familie (Flüssiggas) - siehe ÖNORM EN 437; ausgenommen ist Flüssiggas in flüssigem Zustand. Dichtmittel für die Installation von metallenen Gewindeverbindungen sind in ÖNORM EN 751 genormt.
