Diese ÖNORM legt die Eigenschaften und Prüfverfahren von Mitteln fest, die zum nachträglichen Abdichten von Verbindungen in Gas-Leitungsinstallationen in Gebäuden mit einem maximalen Betriebsdruck von 100 mbar dienen. Sie ist anwendbar auf Dichtmittel für Gasteitungsinstallationen in Gebäuden für Brenngase der 1. Familie (Stadtgas), 2. Familie (Erdgas) und 3. Familie (Flüssiggas) - siehe ÖNORM EN 437; ausgenommen ist Flüssiggas in flüssigem Zustand. Dichtmittel für die Installation von metallenen Gewindeverbindungen sind in ÖNORM EN 751 genormt.
