Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Asphaltmischgüter der Asphaltmischgutart Asphaltbeton für sehr dünne Schichten fest, die für die Verwendung beim Bau von Straßen, Flugbetriebsflächen und sonstigen Verkehrsflächen bestimmt sind. Asphaltbeton für sehr dünne Schichten ist ein bitumenhaltiges Material, dessen Zusammensetzung und die Korngrößenverteilung der Gesteinskörnung für die Anwendung des Materials in sehr dünnen Schichten mit einer Dicke von 20 mm bis 30 mm ausgewählt wird. Mischgüter, die Bitumenemulsionen und bitumenhaltige Materialien auf der Basis der Wiederverwertung vor Ort enthalten, werden durch diese Norm nicht abgedeckt. Asphaltbeton für sehr dünne Schichten wird für Deckschichten verwendet. Diese Europäische Norm enthält Anforderungen an die Auswahl der Baustoffe. Sie ist in Verbindung mit EN 13108-20 und EN 13108-21 anzuwenden.
