Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Asphaltmischgüter der Asphaltmischgutart Splittmastixasphalt fest, die für die Verwendung beim Bau von Straßen, Flugbetriebsflächen und sonstigen Verkehrsflächen bestimmt sind. Splittmastixasphalt wird vorwiegend für Deckschichten verwendet. Splittmastixasphalt kann aber auch für Ausgleichsschichten und Binderschichten eingesetzt werden. Die Mischgüter der Asphaltmischgutart Splittmastixasphalt werden auf Basis von heißem Bitumen hergestellt. Mischgüter, die Bitumenemulsionen enthalten sowie bitumenhaltige Materialien auf der Basis einer Wiederverwertung vor Ort, werden durch diese Norm nicht abgedeckt. Diese Europäische Norm enthält Anforderungen an die Auswahl der Baustoffe. Sie ist in Verbindung mit EN 13108-20 und EN 13108-21 anzuwenden.
