Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an die Klassifizierung und Beschreibung von Asphaltgranulat fest, das als Bestandteil von Asphaltmischgütern verwendet wird. Sie betrifft nicht die Konformität. Diese Europäische Norm enthält nur Festlegungen für Asphaltgranulat mit bitumenhaltigen Bindemitteln, wie zum Beispiel Straßenbaubitumen, modifiziertes Bitumen oder Hartbitumen. Mit teerhaltigen, pechhaltigen oder sonstigen Bestandteilen über gefährlichem Niveau kontaminiertes Asphaltgranulat ist nicht Gegenstand dieser Europäischen Norm und ist in Übereinstimmung mit den Umwelt-, Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsvorschriften der Mitgliedstaaten zu behandeln.
