Dieser Teil der Europäischen Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Monomers Butadien in Polymeren fest. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styren-Copolymer (ABS) und hochschlagfestes Polystyren (HIPS) wie auch auf andere 1,3-Butadien-Polymere und Copolymere, die in N,N-Dimethylacetamid löslich sind oder die in N,N-Dimethylacetamid als feindisperse aufgequollene Suspension vorliegen. Der ermittelte Gehalt an 1,3-Butadien-Monomer wird in Milligramm 1,3-Butadien je Kilogramm Polymer angegeben. Bei einem Gehalt von 0,1 mg/kg im Polymer ist das Verfahren für die quantitative Bestimmung von 1,3-Butadien geeignet.
