Vinylidenchlorid ist ein Monomer, das bei der Herstellung bestimmter Kunststoffolien und -beschichtungen verwendet wird, die für den Kontakt mit Lebensmitteln vorgesehen sind. Bei der Herstellung von Vinylidenchlorid-Polymeren und -Copolymeren können Rückstände des Vinylidenchlorid-Monomers im Polymer verbleiben und in Lebensmittel übergehen, die mit dem Polymer in Berührung kommen. Dieser Teil dieser ÖNORM legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Vinylidenchlorid in Werkstoffen und Gegenständen aus Kunststoff fest. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Folien aus Polyvinylidenchlorid, mit Polyvinylidenchlorid beschichtete Folien sowie auf Schichtstoffe und durch Verbundextrusion hergestellte Werkstoffe, die Polyvinylidenchlorid enthalten. Der Masseanteil des festgestellten Vinylidenchlorids wird als Milligramm Vinylidenchlorid je Kilogramm Polymer ausgedrückt. Das Verfahren ist geeignet für die quantitative Bestimmung von Vinylidenchlorid bei einem Mindestmasseanteil von 5 mg/kg in Werkstoffen und Gegenständen aus Kunststoff.
