Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen an Schwimmbahnleinen und Trennseilanlagen zusätzlich zu den allgemeinen sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen nach EN 13451-1:2011 fest und sollte in Zusammenhang mit dieser gelesen werden. Die Anforderungen dieser besonderen Norm haben Vorrang gegenüber EN 13451-1:2011. Dieser Teil von EN 13451 gilt für werkmäßig hergestellte Schwimmbahnleinen zum Gebrauch bei Wett-kämpfen und beim Training sowie für Trennseile zum Gebrauch in klassifizierten Schwimmbädern nach EN 15288-1 und EN 15288-2.
