Es ist vorgesehen, dass die in dieser Europäischen Norm angegebenen wichtigen Grundsätze beim Vorbereiten von Oberflächen metallischer Bauteile zum thermischen Spritzen berücksichtigt werden. Dieses Dokument gilt sowohl für die Neufertigung als auch für das Instandsetzen verschlissener Teile. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für das thermische Spritzen zum Schutz gegen atmosphärische Korrosion durch Schichten aus Zink und/oder Aluminium und deren Legierungen, dafür gelten EN ISO 2063-1:2017 und EN ISO 2063-2:2017.
