Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Widerstandsfähigkeit einer organischen Beschichtung auf einem metallischen Substrat gegen das Eindringen eines Ritzstichels fest. Bei einigen Aluminiumlegierungen und bei dünnem Stahlblech mit einer Dicke unter 0,4 mm kann es dazu kommen, dass der Stichel eher das Substrat verformt als die Beschichtung ritzt. Unter diesen Bedingungen ist dieses Prüfverfahren nicht anwendbar. Bei weichen Beschichtungen, z. B. auf Polyvinylchlorid-(PVC-)Basis, und strukturierten Beschichtungen wird auf Grund der Weichheit der Beschichtung und/oder des Verhakens des Stichels kein genaues Ergebnis erhalten. Das Verfahren ist nicht anwendbar auf leitfähige Beschichtungen.
