Dieses Dokument legt das Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Glanzes einer organischen Beschichtung auf einem metallischen Substrat fest. Der Glanz ist eine Kenngröße von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung für das Aussehen eines bandbeschichteten Produktes. Das Gerät erfordert eine flache Probe, die größer ist als die Messöffnung. Unebene Proben können folglich nicht gemessen werden. Das Verfahren ist auf alle pigmentierten und nichtpigmentierten Beschichtungen, einschließlich Beschichtungen mit Metalleffekt oder Perlglanzeffekt, anwendbar. Bei strukturierten Beschichtungen ergibt es jedoch nur Anhaltswerte.
