Diese Europäische Norm ist Teil einer Reihe von Normen über Produkte und Systeme für den Schutz und die Instandsetzung von Betontragwerken. Sie enthält Festlegungen für ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Masseverlusts nach Beanspruchung durch Frost-Tausalz-Wechsel in einer Natriumchloridlösung. Das Verfahren ist geeignet für die Prüfung der Beständigkeit von imprägniertem sowie unbehandeltem Beton. Bei einem Frost-Tausalz-Angriff sind zwei Arten von Betonschädigungen möglich: Abblättern der Oberfläche und Schäden im Betoninneren. Das unten beschriebene Verfahren gilt für die Prüfung des Abblätterns der Oberfläche nach Verfahren B von CEN/TC 51 N 475.
