Diese Europäische Norm legt das Referenzprüfverfahren zur Bestimmung des Widerstandes von leichten Gesteinskörnungen (en: lightweight aggregates, LWA) in Übereinstimmung mit EN 13055 gegen Zerfall fest, das für die Typprüfung und im Streitfall eingesetzt wird. Für sonstige Zwecke, insbesondere für die werkseigene Produktionskontrolle, dürfen andere Verfahren angewendet werden, sofern ein ausreichender Zusammenhang mit dem Referenzverfahren nachgewiesen wurde. Die Prüfung ist für leichte Gesteinskörnungen mit einer Korngröße von mindestens 4 mm bis maximal 32 mm anwendbar.
