Diese Europäische Norm legt die Definitionen und Eigenschaften von Bitumenbahnen mit Trägereinlagen fest, die für Dachabdichtungen vorgesehen sind. Dies beinhaltet Bahnen, die als Oberlagen, Zwischenlagen und Unterlagen verwendet werden. Bitumenbahnen mit Trägereinlage, die als Unterdeck- und Unterspannbahnen zur Abdichtung von Dachdeckungen verwendet werden, werden in dieser Europäischen Norm nicht behandelt. Abdichtungsbahnen, die vollständig verklebt unter bei hohen Temperaturen aufgebrachten Bitumenprodukten (z. B. Asphalt) verwendet werden sollen, wie in EN 14695 festgelegt, sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Europäischen Norm.
